Frequently Asked Questions

Here are our 2024 private yacht charter hourly rates:

*The hourly rate of Medium and Large yachts is based on 12 passengers. Additional passengers above 12 will be charged a flat fee of $250 per person.**Wednesday half-off rates are applicable for up to 10 guests only.

Here are our 2024 per-person rates for a one-hour champagne cruise:

* Note: There is no minimum passenger requirement for this charter; however, there is a minimum charge based on the required minimum passenger count. For example, you can come with two guests on a 1-hour champagne cruise, but a fee for a minimum of 4 guests will be charged. All cruises are private, meaning you have the entire yacht and crew to yourself. We do not mix groups on one yacht.

Bareboat charter means that the crew is not included in your charter price, and either you or your hired crew is responsible for operating the yacht. This is akin to renting a car. A crewed charter, on the other hand, is when Toronto Yachts’ permanently hired crew are in charge of your well-being as well as operating the vessel. Toronto Yachts offers both services. Before making a booking with any company, please ensure to ask for their Transport Canada Approved Insurance and Transport Canada Safety Inspection Certificate or Small Vessel Compliance Permit.

Toronto Yachts is the only Transport Canada-licensed yacht charter and boat Rental Company in Downtown Toronto, offering crewed charter services in the Power Yacht category for yachts with a capacity of 100 or fewer passengers. Numerous yacht operators are unable to legally provide this service due to Transport Canada’s stringent safety equipment, procedures, and extensive personnel training requirements. Consequently, some operators advertise the service illegally, risking public safety. For further information, please refer to the Global News press release by Toronto Yachts:

Toronto Yachts stands out as the only downtown Toronto Company approved by Transport Canada and equipped with a Liquor License for yachts with less than 100 passenger capacity. This exclusive privilege allows our valued clients to enjoy alcoholic beverages on our moving yachts, with alcohol available for purchase on licensed vessels.

No other company can match this, as obtaining both a Liquor License and Transport Canada approval is essential. Picture yourself savoring a glass of champagne with your loved ones while cruising Toronto Harbour. Additionally, we offer yachts without a Liquor License, allowing clients to bring their own alcoholic beverages aboard at no extra cost.

If a person is found with Open Alcohol in a moving power yacht without a Liquor License, they not only face a fine but can be charged criminally as well, with Toronto Yachts you will get to enjoy your cruise to the fullest extent as we are fully licensed in all aspects.

On our Small, Medium, and Large yachts, you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, and our staff will gladly serve them to you. However, our VIP Superyacht, typically designed for parties of 20 to 100 passengers, are equipped with a Liquor License. Yes, upon booking a yacht charter with us, you will have the opportunity to sign a Yacht Charter Agreement. When booking online through our booking page, you will be presented with a complete terms and conditions page to review and agree to, as well as a full breakdown of your payment. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the charter, including details such as the charter duration, payment terms, cancellation policy, and any other relevant terms specific to your booking. We prioritize transparency and clarity in our agreements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable charter experience for our clients. After completing the booking process, you will automatically receive an email containing the terms and conditions of the booking, along with the breakdown of your payment.

Light rain typically does not warrant a cancellation, as it often lasts only an hour or two during the summer months. In such cases, we can usually adjust the timing of the trip to accommodate and ensure a pleasant experience for all passengers. While we operate in all weather conditions, our preference is always for clear skies and sunshine.

However, in the event of heavy rain or unsafe weather conditions, we ask clients to provide us with three alternative dates and times in order of preference. We will then make every effort to reschedule the charter for one of these options. It’s important to note that weather-induced rescheduling is solely at the discretion of the Captain and not the client.

We always recommend rescheduling your booking as it incurs lower charges. However, if you choose to cancel your booking up to 15 days prior to the departure date, you will receive a full refund minus a 30% merchant and administration fee, this charge is not based on 30% of the deposit paid, but rather 30% of the total invoice amount. Cancellations made within 15 days of the booking date are non-refundable, and the full amount is due. Please contact us directly to cancel or reschedule your booking, and we will assist you accordingly.

You can reschedule your booking, subject to availability, up to 72 hours prior to the departure date for a rescheduling fee of 20% of the total invoice. Bookings rescheduled within 72 hours up to 24 hours from the departure date are subject to a 30% rescheduling fee. Bookings that are rescheduled within 24 hours of the departure date are subject to a 50% charge. These charges of 20%, 30%, or 50% are not based on the deposit paid, but rather on the total invoice amount. Please contact us directly to reschedule your booking, and we will assist you accordingly.

Toronto Yachts will accommodate any boat changes based on availability and any fare differences. Please contact us directly and we will assist you accordingly.

No, unless you are prone to motion sickness. Seasickness is rare on our large yachts, which are akin to being on a spacious floating air mattress. However, everyone’s tolerance varies, and we are prepared to assist you if you experience discomfort. We can provide over-the-counter medication or return you to shore if necessary.

You are welcome to swim at designated areas such as Hanlan’s beach or Wards Island beach while on our Small, Medium, and Large yachts, as well as during the double yacht party. However, please do so at your own risk and under the direction of the Captain when the yacht is anchored and both engines are shut down. It’s important to note that any form of disembarkation from our VIP Superyacht, including swimming or diving, is strictly prohibited.

Yes, we can utilize our onboard electrical air pump to inflate them for you. Please note that we do not provide any flotation toys.

Based on availability, we can provide 1 hour of early access to the yacht for a maximum of 3 people to decorate. Additionally, one staff member will be available to assist you during this time. Alternatively, for our small, medium, and large yachts, we offer a decoration service for $500, provided by a third-party professional company. This ensures that the yacht is decorated and ready upon your arrival. Decoration charges for the VIP Superyacht vary based on the client’s specific needs and will be quoted following a phone consultation to assess the scope of decoration required.

We only permit DJs and DJ equipment on our VIP Superyacht, which is equipped with a standard XLR input. However, on our small, medium, and large yachts, we provide state-of-the-art sound systems with Bluetooth connectivity for your convenience.

Your crew members fulfill multiple roles onboard, with the Captain also serving as the Chief Engineer, and the servers doubling as the First Mate assisting with various tasks. They take on responsibilities such as barbecuing, providing diving instruction, guiding, storytelling, and ensuring your safety and comfort throughout the journey. Gratuity for the crew is customary in the service industry and typically ranges between 10-20% of the base charter cost, depending on your satisfaction level and discretion. This gratuity constitutes a significant portion of the crew’s income and reflects the exceptional service provided. At the conclusion of your trip, please hand the gratuity directly to the Captain. It’s important to note that Toronto Yachts does not deduct any portion of the gratuity, and 100% of it is distributed equally among the crew members onboard.
